Rajasthan: Labourer gives neem plant as dowry; in-laws accept it
Jaipur, July 10: Setting an example for others to follow, a man in Dhakarkheri village of Kota district of Rajasthan gave a neem plant as a dowry to his daughter.
The best part is that the groom's family happily accept the nature's gift offered to them by their daughter-in-law family.

The bride belongs to a poor family of labourers. His father had made it clear that he has no money to give as dowry, but he can only offer a neem plant.
He also told groom, Laxman, a resident of Ladpur village in Bhilwara district, to take of his daughter as well as the neem plant.
His daughter Shakuntla Kabra, who is studied upto Class 9th, said that she is against dowry practice and is proud of her father.
The story comes as a heart-warming gesture at a time when lot of reports come when daughters are mercilessly killed for not bringing dowry. It is also a strong message for those who give hefty dowry to their daughters.
