Rajasthan: Hindu Organisation Stage Protest In Jaipur Over Road Rage Incident

The Hindu Organisation on Wednesday staged a protest condemning the state government in response to a road rage event that occurred late Friday evening in Rajasthan's Jaipur.

Hindu groups gathered in huge numbers demanding accountability from the officials.

Earlier on Saturday, protestors assembled, causing the closure of stores in portions of Subhash Chowk and Ramganj, and also obstructing traffic. Community conflicts subsequently broke out in the city, prompting the deployment of more police forces to maintain peace and order.

Violent clashes arose in the Pink City on Saturday due to communal conflicts, sparked by the purported killing of a 17-year-old in an incident that police reported as a misinterpretation following a road dispute.

The incident took place under the limits of the Subhash Chowk police station late on Friday.

Two bikers collided near Mehra Colony which led to an argument following which the local community members stepped in. They urged the bikers to stop quarrelling and to part ways peacefully.

The unfortunate event causing the young man's death began when a biker departed at the insistence of a local resident. Another biker, who remained at the location, started arguing with the resident. The situation took a turn for the worse when the crowd began assaulting the motorcyclist. The beatings resulted in the immediate death of the young biker.

The deceased was recognized as Iqbal, who lived in Jaisinghpura. According to his relatives, he died after a road incident. However, Iqbal's family refused to give permission for a post-mortem examination.

The video of the incident had also gone viral on social media, where someone from the crowd was seen slapping Iqbal, while another was seen dragging him.
