Rajasthan civic polls: 106 candidates file nomination on 1st day

Jaipur, Aug 1: The nomination process for the August 17 elections to 129 civic bodies in Rajasthan began today with 106 candidates filing their papers on the first day.

"133 nominations were filed by 106 candidates on the first day today," state election commission spokesperson said.

The polling will be held on August 17 from 7 am to 5 pm, and the results will be announced on August 20.

The last date of filing nomination is August 5, scrutiny of nominations would be held on August 6 and last date of withdrawal of nominations is August 9, he said.
