Karni Sena threatens to chop off Rajasthan education minister's nose, ears for 'rat' remark

The Shree Rajput Karni Sena on Tuesday threatened to chop off Rajasthan Education Minister Kiran Maheshwari's nose and ears for allegedly equating Rajputs with 'rats'.

The Rajput organisation has demanded an immediate apology in the case, even as the minister said she was not referring to the community.

At a press conference held at the Rajput Sabha Bhawan here, Karni Sena state president Mahipal Singh Makrana warned minister Maheshwari of dire consequences for her alleged remarks against Rajput community. A video of Makrana making the statement soon went viral on social media.

A day ago, at a routine media briefing, when Maheshwari was reminded that Sarv Rajput Samaj Sangharsh Samiti (SRSSS) had started a campaign against the BJP ahead of the Assembly polls in December, she said, "Aise bhi log hain jo barsati choohe (rats) hain, jo chunav aate hi bilon se nikal aatein hain (There are people like rainy rats who come out of their holes during election time)," Makrana said.

Maheshwari had reportedly said that as the assembly elections were drawing nearer, the 'rats' were coming out of their holes.

The minister, however, denied using any offensive language against the Rajputs and clarified that her statements against the Congress were being twisted and misconstrued to incite the community.
