"Humbled to receive the 'Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III' of Cyprus. I dedicate it to the friendship between our nations," Modi expressed after being awarded. This prestigious award is named after Archbishop Makarios III, the first President of Cyprus.
The award was presented by President Christodoulides and dedicated to India's 1.4 billion people. Modi emphasised that it symbolised the trusted friendship between India and Cyprus. He noted that this recognition aligns with India's philosophy of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or "The World is one Family," which guides its vision for global peace.
