Viral Video: Pikachu Spotted At ‘Hands Off’ Rallies Against US President Donald Trump’s Policies
The streets of America were filled with anger and colour on Saturday, as thousands of people joined the nationwide 'Hands Off' protests against President Donald Trump and his adviser Elon Musk. But one figure in Washington, D.C., caught everyone's eye - Pikachu.
A protester dressed as the famous yellow Pokémon character marched through the crowd. With big pointy ears and rosy cheeks, Pikachu brought a touch of humour to a day filled with serious messages. People quickly took videos and photos, which soon went viral online.
This wasn't the first time Pikachu was seen during a protest. Just days ago, someone in the same costume was spotted in Turkey, running from riot police during protests against the arrest of opposition leader Ekrem Imamoglu.
Back in the United States, the protests stretched across all 50 states. It was the largest day of demonstrations since President Trump returned to office. Over 1,200 rallies took place in cities from Anchorage to Miami and from Seattle to Los Angeles.
People held up signs saying things like "Hands off our democracy" and "Hands off our Social Security." They were marching against many of the government's new moves - including firing federal workers, closing Social Security offices, cutting health programmes, and deporting immigrants.
Many also raised concerns about the loss of LGBTQ+ rights and other public services.
The protests are part of a growing movement called 'Hands Off'. Protesters say that President Trump and Elon Musk are trying to take control of systems that should belong to the people. They are calling on the world to pay attention and speak up.
Despite the heavy topics, the appearance of Pikachu gave the day a unique twist, reminding everyone that protest can come in many forms - even in bright yellow with a lightning tail.
