Vir Das's Impromptu Street Skit in NYC Wins Hearts, Promotes Fool Volume in Style
Vir Das, the internationally acclaimed comedian and actor, has struck gold once again-this time with a witty and impromptu street encounter that's taking social media by storm. As part of promoting his latest Netflix stand-up special Fool Volume, Vir shared a hilarious video on X (formerly Twitter) that brilliantly showcases his signature humour.

The Viral Poha Encounter
In the now-viral video, Vir Das is approached by a stranger in New York who compliments his style and casually asks about his profession. In classic Das fashion, the comedian seizes the moment with spontaneous creativity.
With a straight face, Vir responds, "I make snack. My name is Rajinder. Have you heard of Poha?" When the stranger admits they haven't, Vir launches into an elaborate backstory claiming his family has been making Poha for 300 years and that they built their fortune on this beloved Indian snack.
"Don't Do Anything on an Empty Stomach"
Staying in character, Vir then offers a piece of comedic philosophy:"Don't do anything on an empty stomach. To be a good comedian, your brain should work, and for that, you need carbs - like Poha."
He adds, "You have to put yourself into your art as if you're feeding your family." This quirky blend of humour and life advice instantly struck a chord with fans.
The video ends with a humorous Hindi line: "Isko pata nahi hai Poha kya hai, please Poha khao and mera samaan dekhlo." (He doesn't know what Poha is-please eat Poha and check out my stuff)
Fans React: Creativity Gets a Standing Ovation
The post quickly gained traction online. Fans flooded the comments with praise and laughter. One user commented, "Nice reel buddy, innovative script," while others praised Vir for effortlessly blending Indian culture with global comedy.
