A brief statement from Venice did not specify the wedding date. However, Italian media suggest it will occur between June 24-26, with several days of festivities.

Venice to Host Jeff Bezos Wedding

The city assured that only 200 guests would attend, a manageable number for Venice. This would prevent any inconvenience to residents and tourists. Venice highlighted its extensive experience in hosting large international events without significant impact.

Venice's Event Management Experience

Venice regularly hosts major events like G20 and G7 summits, the Architecture and Cinema Biennales, and VIP weddings. The city stated these events occur weekly without major disruptions. This experience reassures that Bezos' wedding will be handled smoothly.

Reports claimed that wedding organisers had booked luxury hotels and reserved gondolas and water taxis for late June. These are typically used by locals and tourists for daily travel. However, the city denied these claims, emphasising its commitment to normalcy.

Ensuring Minimal Disruption

Mayor Luigi Brugnaro stated, "We are mutually working and supporting the organizers, to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city." The city prioritises maintaining normal operations for everyone during the event.

Venice has previously hosted high-profile weddings like George and Amal Clooney's in 2014. The city is accustomed to managing such events without causing disturbances to its daily life.

The statement from Venice addressed circulating speculations about Bezos' wedding as "completely unfounded." It reiterated that the city's operations would remain unaffected by the event.

Jeff Bezos is known as the founder and largest individual shareholder of Amazon, as well as the owner of The Washington Post. His upcoming wedding in Venice has attracted significant media attention.

The city's assurance aims to ease concerns about potential disruptions during the high-profile event. Venice remains committed to preserving its unique charm while accommodating such occasions.
