Washington, Feb 11: The US is mulling and debating whether to launch a drone strike against an American terror suspect, who is allegedly a part of the al Qaeda network and is plotting attacks against US, while hiding in Pakistan.

According to a report, US President Barack Obama's administration is mulling whether to go ahead with drone strike on the American citizen, whose identity has been kept secret.

The news agency AP said that "in order for the US to launch a drone strike, the Justice Department must first build a case against the man."

US drones have killed four Americans since 2009.

Last May, President Barack Obama imposed new restrictions on drone operations.
