US Elections: Trump Bags These Key States Already

Donald Trump has won Florida, a major prize in the electoral race, though it aligns with recent trends in the state's shifting political landscape. Florida, with its 30 electoral votes, has been leaning Republican over the past decade, last supporting a Democratic presidential candidate in 2012 when Barack Obama carried the state.

Since then, Republicans have gained significant ground, with GOP leaders like Ron DeSantis securing major victories, such as his 2022 reelection by a nearly 20-point margin.

Beyond Florida, Trump added several states to his tally. Tennessee, a deeply Republican state with 11 electoral votes, was an expected win for Trump. In 2020, he led by 23 points, and his influence continues to resonate strongly with both of Tennessee's U.S. senators, Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, each originally endorsed by Trump. Tennessee last supported a Democrat in a presidential race in 1996, when Bill Clinton was reelected.

Trump also secured wins in Mississippi and West Virginia, further extending his influence in Republican-dominated regions. In Mississippi, which has reliably voted Republican since Jimmy Carter's 1976 victory, Trump took the state's six electoral votes. Local GOP leaders and statewide Republican officeholders, including Gov. Tate Reeves, backed Trump.

Meanwhile, in West Virginia, Trump claimed another victory, taking the state's four electoral votes as he did in 2016 and 2020. West Virginia remains steadfastly Republican, with the GOP holding every partisan statewide office.

Also, the former President has won Arkansas' six electoral votes, marking his third consecutive victory in the state's presidential race. Arkansas, a stronghold for the GOP, saw Trump receive solid backing from leading Republican figures, including Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Sanders, Trump's former White House press secretary, endorsed his campaign and actively supported his bid. However, former Governor Asa Hutchinson, who had vied unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination, refrained from endorsing Trump's reelection. Arkansas has not supported a Democratic presidential candidate since 1996, when Bill Clinton, the state's native son, won his second term.

Also, he is predicted to have bagged Alabama, Oklahoma, and South Carolina,

These wins underscore Trump's continued stronghold over key Southern states, reflecting both regional trends and his enduring influence among Republican voters.
