UAE Does Not Want To Be Drawn Into Iran-Israel Conflict, Says Former Envoy; Suggests PM Modi Could Help

The United Arab Emirates has made it clear that it does not want to become part of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. According to Hussain Hassan Mirza, the country will not allow its territory to be used by any side involved in the conflict.

Speaking in an interview with NDTV, Mirza emphasised that the UAE prefers peace and diplomacy rather than involvement in military confrontations.

UAE Says It Does Not Want To Be Part Of The Conflict

Mirza stated that the UAE has no interest in becoming involved in the Iran-Israel war and questioned why the country was being linked to the conflict.

According to him, the UAE's priority is to maintain stability and ensure that its territory is not used as a base for attacks by any party.

He stressed that the country wants to avoid being drawn into a military confrontation and instead supports peaceful dialogue between the nations involved.

UAE's Sensitive Position In The Region

The UAE occupies a delicate geopolitical position in the Middle East. It shares regional ties with Iran while also maintaining relations with Israel through the Abraham Accords.
Because of these connections, the UAE could play a useful role in helping to reduce tensions between the two sides.

Mirza said this unique position allows the country to act as a potential mediator if diplomatic talks are needed.

Former Envoy Says PM Modi Has Strong Influence

During the interview, Mirza also spoke about the influence of Narendra Modi in the region.
He said the Indian prime minister enjoys strong respect not only among leaders in the Gulf but also among the general public and business communities in the region.

According to Mirza, this credibility could allow Modi to help ease tensions between the conflicting sides.

He even suggested that a direct conversation between Modi and leaders in Iran and Israel could help move the situation toward a resolution.

Conflict Continues Despite Leadership Change In Iran

Meanwhile, the war between Iran and Israel continues to escalate. Following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a military strike, his son Mojtaba Khamenei has reportedly taken over the position.

Despite this leadership transition, the conflict has not slowed down.

Reports indicate that Israeli forces have carried out additional strikes on targets in central Iran and on Hezbollah-linked infrastructure in Beirut.

Rising Human Cost Of The War

The humanitarian impact of the conflict is growing. According to Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, more than 1,300 civilians have been killed, while thousands more have been injured.

The United States has also confirmed the death of another American soldier who was injured during the conflict.
As fighting continues, international leaders and organisations are increasingly calling for diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation and loss of life.
