The visit of the two ships, set to stay in Myanmar till Thursday, came after that of an Indian Coast Guard vessel in mid-January.

That ship, designed to carry a Chetak helicopter, was regularly undertaking anti- smuggling, anti-poaching patrol in addition to tasks related to preservation and protection of marine environment and search and rescue at sea.

An Indian Navy ship had previously called at Yangon in May 2015.
