X.Com Now Points To Twitter

Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Sunday announced that the x.com URL will now be directed to the microblogging website Twitter.

"http://X.com now points to https://twitter.com/. Interim X logo goes live later today," Musk tweeted.

Earlier, microblogging platform Twitter owner Elon Musk hinted that the social media platform will soon do away with the iconic bird logo, which has signified the brand over years.

"And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds. If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we'll make go live worldwide tomorrow", Musk tweeted.

The decision to change the logo of Twitter is seen as the biggest overhaul by Musk since taking over the social media platform last year.

Elon Musk's obsession with X is well known. In April, Musk had appointed Linda Yaccarino as the new chief executive officer.

"Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app", Musk tweeted.

"Buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app", he had tweeted.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk's Twitter platform is taking measures to reduce spam in Direct Messages (DMs) by imposing limits on unverified accounts.

In an announcement on Saturday, Twitter revealed that unverified accounts will soon have daily restrictions on the number of DMs they can send. This move aims to combat the issue of spam and unwanted messages in users' DMs.

However, for those using the paid Twitter service, Twitter Blue, there will be no daily limitations on DMs. This is part of the company's strategy to encourage more people to sign up for Twitter Blue, which offers additional features and benefits.
