Trump’s Blunt Message to Zelensky: ‘Come Back When You’re Ready for Peace’
In a shocking turn of events, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stormed out of the White House on Friday, skipping a scheduled press conference after a heated exchange with U.S. President Donald Trump. The confrontation reportedly led to Trump asking Zelensky to leave due to what he described as "disrespect" toward the United States.

In an official statement, Trump strongly condemned Zelensky's behavior, questioning his commitment to peace negotiations:
"We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today. Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure. It's amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don't want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace."
Heated Oval Office Exchange
The meeting, attended by Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Zelensky, quickly escalated into a heated debate. Vance accused Zelensky of being disrespectful to Trump, while the U.S. president slammed the Ukrainian leader for "gambling with World War III."
Zelensky's visit to Washington was originally intended to finalise an agreement regarding Ukraine's mineral resources and discuss potential peace negotiations with Russia. However, tensions between the two leaders appeared to overshadow any progress on diplomatic talks.
Zelensky's Next Move
Zelensky has not yet responded to Trump's statement, and it remains uncertain how this latest rift will impact U.S.-Ukraine relations. With Washington playing a crucial role in Ukraine's defense efforts, the fallout from this dramatic Oval Office clash could have lasting consequences on future diplomatic ties and military support.
