Trump, Harris Make Final Pitch In Pennsylvania An Eve Of US Presidential Election

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris visited crucial battleground states as they made their final campaign efforts before the significant election day for the presidency.

Harris, 60, is the Democratic candidate, while Trump, 78, represents the Republicans. As of Monday, over 78 million Americans have already voted, according to the University of Florida’s Election Lab.

Final Campaign Push by Trump and Harris

Harris spent her entire day in Pennsylvania, holding five rallies with the last one scheduled in Philadelphia at 11 pm. Pennsylvania and Michigan are pivotal for the 2024 presidential elections. Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Georgia are also key battleground states. A candidate needs 270 electoral college votes to win the presidency.

Trump focused on North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Michigan for his closing campaign remarks. He held four rallies, including two in Pennsylvania. His day began with a rally in North Carolina and was set to conclude in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he had his final event during his 2016 presidential campaign.

Key Battleground States

Harris did not mention Trump during her campaign for the second consecutive day. She is scheduled to hold five events in Pennsylvania, considered crucial among the seven battleground states. "What you are all signing up to do today, and what you’ve been doing — like, let’s enjoy it, you know," Harris said at a rally in Pennsylvania. "We rise and fall together. That’s the strength of who we are," she added.

Trump had previously won Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin in 2016 but lost them to Joe Biden in 2020. "We are just one day away from what will be the most important political event in the history of our country-but you have to get out and vote! Together, we make America Great Again," he stated on 'X’.

Campaign Messages

In her overall campaign message, Harris has emphasized protecting fundamental freedoms, safeguarding constitutional values, and ensuring women's rights. Meanwhile, Trump has focused on promises to rebuild the economy and address illegal immigration issues. If Harris wins, she will become the first woman, first Black woman, and first person of South Asian descent to be US President.

Both campaigns expressed confidence on November 5 regarding their electoral prospects. "They have an expression; I hate the expression actually, but it’s ours to lose. Does that make sense to you? It’s ours to lose. If we get everybody out and vote, there’s not a thing they can do," Trump told supporters in North Carolina.

Final Campaign Push

"I will be president of all Americans," Harris assured her supporters in Allentown, Pennsylvania. "Can you feel it? We have momentum," she confidently stated. She added that "it is time for a new generation of leadership in America." Both candidates urged their supporters to vote.

"We will get this done; we will win because we know what’s at stake," Harris said during a call with Black women supporters. The Trump Campaign stated that if patriots across the country maintain momentum on Election Day, Trump would be sworn in as President in January.

A recent ABC News/Ipsos poll showed Harris slightly ahead nationally but Trump leading in some swing states. The two candidates were tied in Pennsylvania.
