Trump Condemns Violence Against Hindus in Bangladesh While Sending Diwali Greetings

Former President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential election, extended Diwali greetings and criticised recent violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. He expressed his commitment to enhancing relations with India and referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a close ally. Trump also accused Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden of neglecting Hindus globally and within the United States.

Trumps Diwali Message and Condemnation of Violence

"I strongly condemn the barbaric violence against Hindus, Christians, and other minorities who are getting attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh, which remains in a total state of chaos," Trump stated on Truth Social. This marks the first occasion Trump has addressed the situation in Bangladesh, where significant unrest occurred in July and August. The protests led to then-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fleeing on August 5.

Strengthening Ties with India

Trump emphasised his intention to fortify the partnership between the United States and India. He pledged to protect Hindu Americans from what he described as the radical left's anti-religion agenda. "We will fight for your freedom. Under my administration, we will also strengthen our great partnership with India and my good friend, Prime Minister Modi," he declared.

Trump criticised Harris's policies, claiming they would harm small businesses through increased regulations and taxes. In contrast, he highlighted his own record of reducing taxes and regulations while boosting American energy production. "Kamala Harris will destroy your small businesses with more regulations and higher taxes. By contrast, I cut taxes, cut regulations, unleashed American energy, and built the greatest economy in history," he asserted.

Condemnation of Global Neglect

The former president accused Harris and Biden of failing to address issues affecting Hindus worldwide. He linked their administration's shortcomings to broader geopolitical challenges, stating, "They have been a disaster from Israel to Ukraine to our own Southern Border." Trump promised a return to strength and peace under his leadership.

Trump's remarks come amid a tight race with Harris for the November 5 presidential elections. He concluded his message by wishing everyone a Happy Diwali, expressing hope that the Festival of Lights would symbolise the triumph of good over evil. "Also, Happy Diwali to All. I hope the Festival of Lights leads to the Victory of Good over Evil," he said.

The situation in Bangladesh has drawn international attention due to its severity. Trump's comments highlight his stance on foreign policy matters involving religious minorities. His statements also underscore his campaign's focus on strengthening alliances with key global partners like India.
