Thousands of people displaced by floods in Indonesia: UN
United Nations, Dec 27: The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said an estimated 78,800 people were displaced by floods in the Indonesian province of Aceh last week, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said here on Friday.
"In West Java province, some 14,200 people have been displaced by flooding in Bandung district," Xinhua quoted Dujarric as saying at a daily news briefing here.

"Local authorities are currently handling the emergency response, and international humanitarian partners stand ready to support should any additional assistance be required," the spokesman added.
On Tuesday, Indonesia reported that the number of evacuees stood at 28,000 people.
Indonesia is frequently struck by floods and landslides during heavy downpours.
