Sikh activist Surat Singh Khalsa’s son-in-law murdered in Chicago
Chicago, Aug 18: Fasting Sikh activist Surat Singh Khalsa's son-in-law Satwinder Singh Bhola was murdered by unidentified persons in Chicago, media reported on Tuesday.
According to media reports, Bhola was attacked with knife while returning home in Perio area of Chicago late Monday.
Bhola was husband of Bibi Sarvarinder Kaur, who was with her father for the past many months.
Surat Singh Khalsa also known as "Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa" is a civil rights and political activist, continues his hunger strike with the demand of premature release of Sikhs. He has been involved with human rights activism since early 1970s.
On January 16 this years, Surat Singh Khalsa began an indefinite hunger to seek the release of Sikh political prisoners who have completed their court sentences. He has also called for unconditional release of prisoners of all religions who have completed their terms.
