The ministry indicated that its nationals had passed away "after suffering a stroke due to the extreme heat wave." In an official statement, it was mentioned by the Jordanian foreign ministry that coordination with the Saudi authorities was underway regarding procedures for burying or transporting the bodies of those who had passed away, in accordance with the wishes of their families, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Furthermore, the death of five Iranian pilgrims was confirmed by the Iranian Red Crescent, although the specific causes were not detailed, as reported by the Hindustan Times. As of now, no official statement regarding the fatalities has been released by the Saudi authorities.

The temperature has exceeded the 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) mark and was expected to reach 47 degrees on Monday in the holy town. As part of heat mitigation measures, numerous climate-controlled areas have been established by the Saudi authorities.

Additionally, water distribution and advice on sun protection have been provided to pilgrims. An advisory issued by the Saudi health ministry urged pilgrims to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day. Hajj is renowned as one of the largest mass gatherings globally, with over 1.8 million pilgrims participating this year, according to Saudi officials, as per media reports.

Over the past 30 years, various incidents such as stampedes, tent fires, heatwaves, and other factors have resulted in hundreds of deaths during the event. During last year's Hajj pilgrimage, at least 240 people, predominantly from Indonesia, lost their lives, with countries reporting figures without specifying the causes of death. More than 2,000 individuals also suffered from heatstroke during the pilgrimage. This year's Hajj is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday.
