Russian President Putin Tells Women To Safeguard Life Of The Child
Russia opposes a complete ban, but believes that abortions are contrary to state interests, said President Vladimir Putin during a recent interaction with the media. The President revealed that over 1500 Braves are joining the army every day. According to the reports, over 6,17,000 soldiers are serving in the Russian army currently.
Putin requested the women of Russia to "safeguard the life of the child". A political analyst Tatiana Stanovaya said the government sees abortions as a question of national survival.

"Abortions are now part of it. They think that convincing a woman to have an abortion is a way of worsening Russia's demographic problem -- that it is the West's plan," Stanovaya said.
Sergei Zakharov, a senior Russian Demographer at France's University of Strasbourg, after analyzing the current situation said more bans are expected and restrictions are expected in the coming time. He added that abortions might be excluded from the state insurance system.
To push the birth rate in Russia "by all means, including restricting abortions, is something Franco's Spain or Mussolini's Italy," he added.
The Russian President was grilled by the media in the annual interaction for more than four hours. According to the reports, more than 20 lakh people had asked questions to the President, which he tried to answer.
Earlier, in view of the declining birth rate in Russia, President Putin had asked women to give birth to as many as eight children and have big families as the country continues to lose its soldiers in the war against Ukraine
"Many of our ethnic groups have preserved the tradition of having strong multigenerational families with four, five, or even more children. Let us remember that (in) Russian families, many of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers had seven, eight, or even more children," the Russian President had said.
"The family is not just the foundation of the state and society, it is a spiritual phenomenon, a source of morality," Putin added
