Russian President Putin Praises PM Modi, Calls Him 'Very Wise Man' | Watch
Russian President Vladimir Putin once again praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, lauding him as a "very wise man" during a recent event. Putin expressed his admiration for the remarkable strides India has made in development under PM Modi's guidance.
In a video shared by Russian news platform RT News, Putin emphasized the enduring tradition of friendship and cooperation between Russia and India.

"We maintain strong political relations with Prime Minister Modi; he is a very wise leader. India, under his guidance, has achieved significant progress in its development. This aligns with the mutual interests of both India and Russia, as we collaborate on this agenda," Putin stated.
Notably, Putin was one of the two world leaders who had not attended the G20 Summit in India in September.
This praise follows the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration at the recent G20 Summit in India. The declaration, celebrated by Moscow as a "milestone," calls for the establishment of peace in the ongoing Ukraine conflict without attributing blame to Russia. This marks a departure from the previous Bali Declaration.

Earlier in June, Putin had also commended PM Modi's 'Make in India' initiative during his speech at the 8th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, Russia. Putin acknowledged that PM Modi's emphasis on promoting the Make in India program was indeed the "right thing."
He remarked, "We did not have domestically made cars back in the 90s, but now we do. I believe that we should take inspiration from many of our partners, such as India. They are dedicated to manufacturing and using Indian-made vehicles. I think Prime Minister Modi is doing the right thing by promoting the Make in India program. He is on the right path."
The 'Make in India' initiative was introduced on a global scale in September 2014, as part of India's renewed focus on manufacturing. The initiative's objective is to position India as the most favored global manufacturing destination. It aims to integrate Indian companies into the global supply chain, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), with a focus on enabling Indian businesses to excel in a globalised environment.
