New Delhi, Dec 9: Indian officials have denied rumours over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's planned visit to Pakistan for the meeting of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

The meeting is slated to be held in Pakistan late next year.

PM Modi's Pak visit not on cards?

A leading Pakistani TV channel today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be making his maiden visit to Pakistan for the SAARC Summit in 2016.

Geo TV reportedly quoted External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as saying, who is in Islamabad for the 'Heart of Asia' conference.

However, the officials made it clear that Prime Minister Modi's commitment to attend the SAARC Summit was reflected in the Ufa joint statement. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had invited Modi for the SAARC summit when they had met for a bilateral meeting in the Russian city of Ufa in July.
