Pakistan Will Destroy Dam If India Builds It On Indus River: Army Chief Munir In US

Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir has warned India of "nuclear war" if his country faces an existential threat in future, ThePrint reported.

Munir's Nuke Threat From US Soil

"We are a nuclear nation, if we think we are going down, we'll take half the world down with us," Field Marshal Asim Munir said at a dinner hosted by businessman Adnan Asad in Tampa in the US.

Munir also threatened India of destroying dams if it constructs on the Indus water channels. "We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, phir 10 missile sey faarigh kar dengey [we will destroy it with 10 missiles]...The Indus River is not the Indians' family property. Humein missilon ki kami nahin hai, al-hamdulillah [we have no shortage of missiles, Praise be to God]," Munir reportedly stated.

As a retaliation for the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India suspended the Indus Water Treaty. However, the Pakistan Army Chief stated that this decision to place it in abeyance could put 250 million people at risk of starvation.

This is his second visit to the US in two months. In June, Trump hosted Munir at the White House, and he said this marks a new dimension in Pak-US relations.

Pakistan Army Chief Mocks India

Munir then mocked India for not revealing the losses that it suffered in Operation Sindoor. "The Indians should accept their losses," he said. He claimed that Islamabad would reveal the losses it suffered in the four-day war if New Delhi opens up on casualties.

Jokingly, the Pakistan Army Chief stated that Pakistan should teach Pakistan on "masterclass" to India on balancing rival global powers. "The real reason for our success is that we are not misers. If someone does good work, we praise them. That is why we nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Prize," he reportedly said.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena UBT's Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi slammed the Pakistan Army Chief, calling him a 'Failed Marshal'.

"The Failed Marshal of Pakistan is talking about taking half the world down by launching a nuclear attack on India. And our BCCI &GoI want India team to play cricket with Pakistan team. Junk the Aman ki Asha. Dump your revenue sharing model! ! Call off the Asia Cup!" the MP said in a post on X.
