Pakistan to build Peshawar-Kabul motorway
Islamabad, Jan 4: The Pakistani government has planned to build a motorway from its Peshawar city to Afghanistan's capital Kabul, the media reported.
The four-lane road via Jalalabad and Torkham covers 265 km and the land acquisition process will be initiated after the finalisation of the alignment, The Nation reported, citing an official from Pakistan's National Highway Authority.

The motorway project will not only improve connectivity between the two neighbouring countries but would also bring economic prosperity in the adjacent areas, the report said.
The motorway would be developed into three sections, 50 km long Peshawar-Torkham, 76 km Torkham-Jalalabad, and 139 km Jalalabad-Kabul, the report said.
