A report in the Express Tribune said that the account was suspended for keeping his social media followers updated about Indian atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir. However the official handle of the Pakistan foreign ministry, which has Faisal's name remains active.

He had written that Members of the European Parliament called for an end to gross human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that the EU should not trade with countries that violate human rights.

The development comes in the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pulwama attack. India has blamed Pakistan for harbouring terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammad, which carried out the attack.
