Outrage on social media over killing of gorilla in US zoo
Cincinnati, May 30: The killing of a gorilla at a zoo here in the US after a four-year-old boy fell into its enclosure on Saturday (May 28) sparked an outrage on social media.
Many said the gorilla, Harambe, should not have been shot as he did not intend to hurt the child. The hashtag #JusticeForHarambe was doing the rounds on the social media after the incident.

Others were of the opinion that the parents of the boy should have been held responsible for not looking after him. Zoo officials shot the ape after he grabbed and dragged the boy.
It was said on the zoo's behalf that the action was taken against the 180-kg gorilla as the situation was perceived to be "life-threatening".
