Hardeep Singh Nijjar's Murder Caught On Camera: CCTV Footage Shows How He Was Killed

The CCTV footage of Hardeep Singh Nijjar's murder in Canada has shown that at least six people were involved in his assassination in June, according to a report in The Washington Post.

The US publication has claimed to be having access to the video clip of the incident. The eyewitness has also opened up on how he was killed outside a Gurudwara. The video clip has now been shared with the investigating officers.

Nijjars Murder Caught On Camera: CCTV Footage Shows How He Was killed

What's In The Video?

The 90-second video begins with Nijjar's gray pickup truck departing from a parking spot. A white sedan emerges from a nearby lot, aligning itself in parallel to the truck.

The vehicles are divided by a walkway. As the truck accelerates, the sedan matches its speed. Subsequently, the truck transitions into the sedan's lane, resulting in a momentary side-by-side alignment.

Approaching the exit of the parking lot, the sedan moves ahead and decelerates to obstruct the truck. Subsequently, two men who were sweatshirts are seen coming out of a waiting area and coming toward the truck.

Bhupinderjit Singh, a volunteer at the gurdwara, was engaged in a soccer game about 100 yards away at Kabbadi Park when he initially thought he heard fireworks. "My second instinct was gunshots - and our president," he remarked.

He was the first eyewitness to reach Nijjar's vehicle. He recounted that he opened the driver's side door and firmly gripped Nijjar's shoulders. The gurdwara leader appeared to be unresponsive.

People Recount The Incident

Going by the statements given by the community members, the killers shot 50 bullets out of which 34 hit Nijjar. "It was blood and shattered glass everywhere," Singh said. "The ground was strewn with bullets."

Another Gurdwara leader named Gurmeet Singh Toor and Malkit Singh, a Gurdwara committee member chased them.

Malkit Singh mentioned that he couldn't identify the individuals. He depicted them as dressed in "Sikh attire," with hoodies covering the small pughs on their heads and masks concealing their "bearded faces." One of them, slightly over five feet tall and robust, appeared to have difficulty running fast, according to Malkit Singh. The other was about 4 inches taller and more slender.

These men sprinted out of the park towards a cul-de-sac, he explained and then boarded a silver car that was waiting for them.

"One of the [running] men pointed his pistol at me right before getting into the car," he stated. "The smell of gunpowder in the air shocked me and reminded me how dangerous they were."

Then the five men escaped from the spot.

Authorities' Negligence?

The report also claims that the authorities arrived late to the crime scene despite the cops patrolling the neighborhood regularly. Precisely, they came between 12 and 20 minutes after the gunshots were first heard.

Further delaying the process was a tussle between Surrey police and the RCMP over who should head the investigation. It was only after a month on July 21 that the authorities sought the help of the public to identify the two gunmen involved in the murder of the Khalistani leader.

Tensions flared between India and Canada following Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's explosive allegations of a "potential" involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar on his country's soil on June 18 in British Columbia. India had designated Nijjar as a terrorist in 2020.
