Modi Outlines Ambitious Goals for Third Term, Emphasising India's Opportunities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large gathering of Indian Americans in New York, highlighting his ambitious goals for India's development during his third term. He emphasised that India is now a land of opportunities. "After going through this tough election process, this long election system, something unprecedented happened in India this year. What happened… 'Abkibaar Modi Sarkaar,'" he stated to the enthusiastic crowd.

Modis Ambitious Goals for Third Term

Modi expressed gratitude for the mandate given by the people of India, noting its significance as the first of its kind in 60 years. He shared his commitment to good governance and prosperity for India, stating that destiny led him into politics. Over the past decade, his governance model has been recognised, leading to his re-election for a third term.

Indian Americans: India's Brand Ambassadors

The prime minister praised Indian Americans for their role in strengthening ties between India and the US, referring to them as India's brand ambassadors. He acknowledged their contributions to societal and national development across various fields. Modi also highlighted the celebration of democracy in both India and the US, noting the recent elections in India as the largest in human history.

During his visit, President Biden hosted Modi at his home in Delaware, which Modi described as a touching moment. "This respect is for the 140 billion Indians. This respect is for you, for your achievements, for the hundreds and thousands of Indians living here," he said, reiterating his appreciation for Indian Americans.

India's Economic Aspirations

Modi discussed India's aspiration to become the world's third-largest economy from its current fifth position. He highlighted the self-confidence and determination of Indians to achieve their goals. "Today, people of India are full of self-confidence; they have resolve and determination to achieve their goal," he stated.

The prime minister noted that development in India has become a people's movement, with 250 million people lifted out of poverty in just a decade. This progress was achieved by changing old mindsets and empowering the poor. The new middle class is now driving India's development forward.

Cultural Celebrations

The event featured an entertaining cultural performance titled "Echoes of India - A Journey Through Art and Tradition." It showcased 382 artists known nationally and internationally, including Grammy nominee Chandrika Tandon and STAR Voice of India winner Aishwarya Majumdar. The performances celebrated India's rich cultural diversity with classical, folk, modern, and fusion acts.

More than 13,000 Indian Americans attended the event at Nassau Veterans Coliseum, with attendees from 40 states arriving via 60 charter buses. Organisers highlighted over 30 performances paying homage to India's diverse cultures.

Modi concluded by reiterating India's transformation into a land creating opportunities rather than waiting for them. He emphasised that every Indian believes in the nation's achievements and potential. "India today is a land of opportunities," he said confidently.
