McDonald's honors 94-year-old woman for 44 years of service

Evansville, Mar 27: A 94-year-old Indiana woman celebrated her 44 years of working at McDonald's. The Evansville Courier & Press reports friends and co-workers threw a party for Loraine Maurer, of Evansville, last week.

Maurer started working at McDonald's in 1973 and has been a fixture behind the counter at several locations in the area ever since.

Maurer works the breakfast shift on Friday and Saturday mornings. Franchise owner Katie Kenworthy tells the newspaper that people 'come from all over town to see her and make sure they get their coffee or oatmeal made the Loraine way'.

Maurer tells ABC News that she has thought about retirement, but 'would miss it too much'.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ohio Valley Facebook page has shared the pictures of Loraine Maurer and has honoured Maurer for her 44 years of service at McDonalds.

"Celebrating a very special employee with a local McDonald's today! Miss Loraine has provided excellent customer service to her customers for 44 years. She always greets them with a smile at McDonald's on North Green River Rd (near Lynch and Green River). Today those customers, along with her co-workers, are celebrating Loraine's 94th birthday AND 44 years of service! To honor Miss Loraine, RMHC supporters and McDonald's owners, Chip and Katie Kenworthy, ordered a brick for the pathway to the House recognising her achievement. Congratulations Miss Loraine and Happy Birthday! #KeepingFamiliesClose #McDonalds #CustomerService" it added.
