The meteorological department and various weather forecast websites predict a 67 per cent likelihood of morning rain and a 94 per cent likelihood of rain in the evening in Pallekele on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's legendary cricketer has given the latest weather update. On X (formerly known as X), Akram posted a video where people can see slight drizzle in the background.

He has recorded the video from his hotel room and informed that the match venue is just an hour drive away. "Many people are asking me about the weather in Kandy. Where I'm staying, there's a drizzle with cloud cover. But you can see that the weather is clearing. The ground is one hour away from here. Maybe, the weather is different there," the Sultan of Swing said in the video.

The former cricketer reminded the enthusiastic fans that it is just a sports and enjoy good cricket. He added, "All the best to both teams. And remember, it's just a match. Someone will win and someone will lose. Enjoy good cricket," said the Pakistan great.
