Justin Trudeau Is Not The Best Choice For Next Canada PM: Says A Poll
Amid a row with India, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is trailing in popularity as a poll has claimed that Pierre Poilievre is the best choice for the next PM by 40 per cent of Canadian citizens.
Pierre Poilievre is the leader of the Opposition Conservative Party. The latest survey report indicates that Conservatives have high chances of getting a majority to form the government in the next elections in 2025, according to Global News.

The polling momentum for Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre remains steady, with 40 percent of Canadians considering him the top choice for Prime Minister. This marks a five-point increase in his favorability on this question compared to a year ago.
On the other hand, the percentage of respondents who believe Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is the best choice has remained unchanged year-over-year at 31 percent.
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, a Khalistan sympathiser and a coalition partner of PM Trudeau, has seen a decline of four points since September 2022, with 22 percent of respondents considering him the optimal choice to lead the government. Regarding critical matters like the economy, healthcare, and housing, a majority of Canadians believe Poilievre has the most effective plans in all three domains, as per the poll.
This report comes at a time when Trudeau is in the centre of the controversy after making an explosive statement on Monday accusing an Indian government agency of killing Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. He also expelled an Indian diplomat identified as Pavan Kumar Rai, the head of India's foreign intelligence agency in Canada, the Toronto Star newspaper reported.
His comments and subsequent action have escalated tensions between India and Canada with some critics slamming him for making such allegations without providing solid proof to back his claims.
