Jordan Drone Attack Claims 3 US Troops: Biden And Trump React, Iran Distance Itself
Four separate drone strikes had been launched at three US bases, and an investigation is underway to determine why the T-22 base's defence mechanism did not repel the drones.
Traumatic brain injuries have been suffered by many of the American servicemen wounded. An official mentioned that the drone had struck near the barracks early in the morning, which could explain the high number of casualties.

Iran Distanced From Jordan's drone attack
An attack that resulted in the death of three US soldiers was distanced from Iran, on Monday, as domestic pressure mounted on President Joe Biden to respond against Tehran.
A day after the drone strike on a military base in northeast Jordan, which the US attributed to "radical Iran-backed militant groups," Tehran's mission to the UN denied any connection to the assault.
Iran's official news agency, IRNA, quoted the mission as stating, "Iran has no connection to these attacks, and the clashes are between the US army and resistance groups in the region, who reciprocally confront each other."
The deaths mark the first instance of US troops being killed in an attack in the Middle East since the Israel-Hamas war began in Gaza in October.
Trump Slams Biden Administration After the Drone Attack
Deepest condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers were expressed by Trump on his Truth Social page, describing the event as a "horrible day for America." The critique centred on Biden's foreign policy, attributing the attack to perceived weakness and a departure from the former president's administration's "Maximum Pressure" policy on Iran.
It was asserted by the former president that such an attack would not have occurred under his presidency, linking it to a broader critique of Biden's international policies, including the situation in Ukraine and the broader stability of global peace.
In Trump's words, "This attack would NEVER have happened if I was President, not even a chance - Just like the Iranian-backed Hamas attack on Israel would never have happened, the War in Ukraine would never have happened, and we would right now have Peace throughout the World. Instead, we are on the brink of World War 3."
Biden Vows To Respond
In a statement, it was pointedly mentioned by Biden that all those responsible would be held to account at a time of the US choosing, and the belief that Iran was ultimately behind the attacks was not disguised by the US Pentagon.
Sharing the news, Biden stated: "Today, America's heart is heavy. Last night, three US service members were killed - and many wounded - during an unmanned aerial drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border.
He added: "While the facts of this attack are still being gathered, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq." A vow was made: "We will carry on their commitment to fight terrorism. And have no doubt - all those responsible will be held to account at a time and in a manner of our choosing."
Later during a campaign event in South Carolina, Biden requested a moment of silence for the three killed service members and subsequently told his audience, "We shall respond."
