Israeli Strikes On Beirut Suburb: 2 Killed, 76 Wounded, Confirms Lebanese Health Ministry
The Israeli military launched a strike on the headquarters of Hezbollah, a militant group, located in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Friday. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that they had targeted Hezbollah's central command center in Dahiyeh, a densely populated area known to be a Hezbollah stronghold.
"The IDF conducted a precise strike on Hezbollah's central headquarters in Dahiyeh," military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a televised statement.

Lebanon's National News Agency reported that six buildings were destroyed by the strikes.
According to Israeli media, the strikes were aimed at Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, though the Israeli army did not comment on this claim. Despite the reports, sources close to Hezbollah and Iran's Tasnim news agency stated that Nasrallah was unharmed. A senior Iranian official also indicated that Tehran was verifying his status.
The impact of the strike was felt across Beirut, with explosions shaking buildings as far as 30 kilometers away. Thick black smoke filled the sky as ambulances rushed to the scene. Local hospitals reported receiving 10 injured individuals, including three critically wounded, among them a Syrian child.
Lebanon's health ministry confirmed that two people were killed and 76 others were injured in the strikes.
These events follow heightened tensions after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to escalate Israel's actions against Hezbollah. In a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Netanyahu emphasized Israel's right to neutralize the threat posed by Hezbollah. This strike marks the largest Israeli attack on Beirut's southern suburbs since the conflict began, adding to a week of heavy airstrikes in southern Lebanon, where over 700 people have reportedly been killed, and thousands displaced.
