Pro ISIS media groups while promoting 9/11 issued a warning to the US that the gates of hell would open up. It said Irma was a sign of further punishment. Further the group also published a video in which labelled wildfires and hurricanes as soldiers of Allah.

The pro-ISIS al-Battar Media Foundation published the video labelling the wildfires that ravaged the American West and hurricanes in Texas and Florida as 'soldiers of Allah.'
