Iraqi pilots' goof up: Food, ammunition for soldiers dropped in ISIS area

, Oct 1: Iraqi military pilots supplying aid and weapons to its soldiers made a terrible mistake recently - Instead of supplying the stock to their men, the pilots supplied the items directly to its enemy

According to NBC News, pilots who were entrusted to drop the supplies of food, water and ammunition for Iraqi soldiers fighting in the country's western province of Saglawyah, dropped them over an area controlled by Isis militants.

Reportedly, the pilots were all inexperienced and young.

Criticising the army commanders who assigned the task to the pilots, a member of Iraqi parliament said, "These soldiers were in deadly need of these supplies, but because of the wrong plans of the commanders in the Iraqi army and lack of experience of the pilots, we in a way or another helped Isis fighters to kill our soldiers".

A probe has been launched into the incident.
