Indians Attending Donald Trump's Inauguration: A Star-Studded Guest List
Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States in a ceremony that marks the start of his second and final term in office. This event, scheduled for 12 noon local time (10:30 pm IST) on Monday, signifies a major political milestone. The inauguration, breaking from the tradition of a mainly national event, will see the convergence of global leaders, business magnates, and tech giants in Washington D.C.
Among the attendees are several prominent Indians and Indian-origin figures, underscoring the diverse international representation at the ceremony.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will attend as the official representative of the Indian government. Adding to the distinguished guest list are JD Vance, the Vice President-elect with Indian-origin ties through his wife, Usha, and notable business leaders Mukesh and Nita Ambani from Reliance Industries. They are joined by real estate moguls Kalpesh Mehta of Tribeca Developers, Pankaj Bansal of M3M Developers, and Ashish Jain of Kundan Spaces, highlighting the strong business connections between India and the US.
The tech industry is also well represented, with Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google and Alphabet, in attendance. While Pichai has confirmed his presence, the participation of Microsoft's Indian-origin CEO, Satya Nadella, remains uncertain. This gathering of leaders from various sectors showcases the broad appeal and significant impact of Trump's presidency on both the national and international stages.
However, not everyone invited has chosen to attend. Amit Bhattacharya, a renowned Sarod player from Varanasi, declined the invitation. He cited the absence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also represents Varanasi in the Indian Parliament, as his reason.
