India Stands Ready To Offer All Possible Assistance: PM Modi On Myanmar, Thailand Earthquake
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed deep concern over the situation in Myanmar after a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck the country. He assured all possible assistance, stating that India is in touch with authorities in Myanmar and Thailand to provide necessary support.
In a post on X, PM Modi conveyed his prayers for the safety and well-being of those affected. He emphasized that India stands ready to offer help and has directed officials to remain on standby. He also instructed the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to stay in close contact with the governments of Myanmar and Thailand.

India has a strong record of extending aid in times of crisis. During the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, India launched Operation Dost, its official humanitarian aid program, to assist both countries. Under this initiative, India sent emergency relief materials, life-saving medicines, and essential equipment worth ₹7 crore. Highlighting India's commitment to global solidarity, Indian Government stated that the assistance was provided in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam-the ancient Indian philosophy meaning "the world is one family."
Concerned by the situation in the wake of the Earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. Praying for the safety and wellbeing of everyone. India stands ready to offer all possible assistance. In this regard, asked our authorities to be on standby. Also asked the MEA to remain in touch…
