How Pakistanis Are Reacting To India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor Project?

Plans for an ambitious India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor were unveiled on Saturday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserting that India does not limit connectivity to regional borders and believes that it can play a key role in strengthening mutual trust.

Prime Minister Modi, at the launch event of the 'Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment' and 'India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor' during the G20 Summit, said today "we all have reached an important and historic partnership".

How Pakistani Are Reacting To India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor?

He said in the times to come, it will become an effective medium for economic integration of India, the Middle East and Europe. "It will give a new direction to connectivity and sustainable development of the entire world," the Prime Minister said.

The new economic corridor, which many see as an alternative to China's Belt and Road Initiative, was jointly announced on Saturday by the leaders of the US, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Italy and the European Union on the sidelines of the G20 summit in New Delhi.

So, how have Pakistanis have reacted to the lastest development?
Many Pakistanis are not happy with their government for failing to take the country on the developmental path.

Slamming his own country, a user said, "Only benefit means every country have foreign policy except Pakistan Power is very important at this time,"

"As a Paki, I can't help but feel a deep sense of shame today. Our nation deserves better leadership, accountability, and a brighter future. It's time for change and a renewed commitment to the values that truly represent us," second user said on X (formerly known as Twitter) wrote. .

"High time we get our house in order and set our priorities straight. Wishful thinking and petty politics will get us nowhere. Perhaps reassessing and questioning our limitations might bring about the change our Country needs," the third user posted on X.

Another netizen said, "Rich Arab Muslims leaders of Saudi, UAE, & Qatar are building relations based on economic reality.

They have now realized that Muslim Ummah is not a viable concept. Hence they are building economic corridors to be connecting bridge between rising India & powerful European markets.

Pakistan had this chance for decades, & squandered it for petty corruption by elites in Army, Judiciary, Politicians, & bureaucracy. Short sighted minions siphoned billions to waste on their own luxuries. Well done MBS under the guidance of @KingSalman."

Meanwhile, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, ignoring Pakistan, arrived in New Delhi on Saturday. He skipped the Islamabad visit to participate in the G20 Summit despite being a close ally of Pakistan.
