Elon Musk's Net Worth Skyrockets To $270.3 Billion Following Tesla's Historic Profit Surge
Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest individual, saw his fortune soar by a remarkable $33.5 billion on 24 October after his electric vehicle firm, Tesla Inc., recorded its highest share gain in over a decade.
This substantial increase in Musk's wealth, which now totals $270 billion, follows Tesla's stock surge after its third-quarter earnings report. Tesla shares jumped by 22%, marking the company's strongest day on the stock market since the early 2010s.

Musk's Wealth Surpasses Bezos by $61 Billion
According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index (BBI), Musk is now $61 billion ahead of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, further solidifying his place as the richest person globally.
Around 75% of Musk's wealth is derived from Tesla shares and stock options, while his other ventures, including SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter), and the AI company xAI, make up the remainder.
Tesla's Record Quarterly Profit Fuels Stock Rally
Tesla's Q3 FY24 earnings showcased the company's most substantial quarterly profit since mid-2023. This result has reversed a trend of three consecutive quarters marked by slowing demand and falling profits for the world's leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer.
During a webcast following the earnings report, Musk projected up to 30% growth in Tesla vehicle sales going forward. He also revealed that the Cybertruck achieved its first-ever quarterly profit, adding to Tesla's renewed strength.
Musk's predictions go further; he expects Tesla to introduce Cybercab robotaxis by 2026, with the aim of producing 2-4 million units per year in the near future.
Expressing his confidence, Musk stated, "My prediction is Tesla will become the most valuable company in the world, and probably by a long shot."
Musk's Political and Business Ambitions Align
As Musk's business empire grows, so does his political involvement. The billionaire has openly endorsed former President Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming US elections.
In recent weeks, Musk has campaigned with Trump in Pennsylvania and contributed $75 million to his super PAC, which promotes Republican voting efforts and digital advertising.
Musk's political goals appear to complement his business ambitions; he said during the Tesla webcast that he would push for federal approvals for autonomous vehicles if he held a government role.
Trump, in turn, has praised Musk's leadership and proposed a position for him as head of a newly formed "Department of Government Efficiency" aimed at reducing bureaucratic obstacles, should Trump win a second term.
Musk's Vision for Tesla and Beyond
As Musk's wealth and influence continue to expand, his ambitions for Tesla are becoming increasingly bold. With the success of Cybertruck and plans for robotaxi production, Tesla's future seems brighter than ever.
Musk's strategic business decisions and rising political involvement suggest he is striving for more than making Tesla the world's most valuable company-he is positioning himself as a powerful force in both business and politics.
