Charlie is a patriot who devoted his life to the cause of open debate and the country that he loves so much, the United States of America."

Trump praised Kirk as a man of faith, a defender of liberty and justice, and someone deeply respected by America's youth.

The President strongly condemned what he called "radical Left political violence." He linked Kirk's murder to a broader pattern of politically motivated attacks, referencing both the assassination attempt against himself and the 2024 killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

"Violence and murder are the tragic consequences of demonising those with whom you disagree in the most despicable way possible," Trump said, vowing to bring all those responsible for Kirk's death to justice.
