The news created ripples across the world. As Trump addressed voters after his historic win over his rival and Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, social media was abuzz with activities.

Several hashtags--Trump, #DonaldTrump and President Trump, to name a few--were trending on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

It was a tightly fought election battle. Both Clinton and Trump put serious allegations against each other. The campaign turned nasty on several occasions.
