Washington, Nov 9: The wait is finally over.

Donald Trump got elected as the 45th President of the United States of America on Wednesday.

The news created ripples across the world. As Trump addressed voters after his historic win over his rival and Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, social media was abuzz with activities.

Several hashtags--Trump, #DonaldTrump and President Trump, to name a few--were trending on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

It was a tightly fought election battle. Both Clinton and Trump put serious allegations against each other. The campaign turned nasty on several occasions.

Thus when the results were out, American voters and people from across the world did not react in a very gentlemanly manner.
