Did Adani Issue Come Up For Discussion During Modi-Trump Meet? Here's What Indian PM Says
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday indicated that industrialist Gautam Adani's issue did not crop up during his talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
Speaking to the media, PM Modi said, "India is a democracy and our culture is 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', we consider the whole world as one family. I believe every Indian is mine. Two prominent leaders of two countries never discuss such individual issues."

The Indian billionaire was indicted in New York last year for his alleged involvement in a multibillion-dollar bribery and fraud scheme. Prosecutors accused Adani and seven others, including his nephew Sagar Adani, of paying approximately $265 million in bribes to Indian officials to secure solar energy contracts projected to generate $2 billion in profit over two decades.
Given Adani's close ties with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reports suggested the case might come up in discussions between Modi and US leaders.
Recently, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing the Department of Justice to suspend enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)-a 1977 law prohibiting bribery of foreign officials by American and foreign companies. This decision directly impacts the Justice Department's high-profile cases, including Adani's indictment.
