Ketan Agarwal Death Case: New Angle Points to Siya’s Reluctance for Marriage

A new angle has emerged in the investigation into the death of businessman Ketan Vishal Agarwal at Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18, with police suspecting that his fiancée Siya Goyal was not mentally prepared for marriage, according to officials involved in the probe.

Ketan Agarwal, a businessman from Gahunje and Chief Marketing Officer in his family-run real estate firm, died after falling into a deep gorge at Lohagad Fort while visiting the location with Siya Goyal. The couple was reportedly set to get married in November.

Police have arrested Siya Goyal (20) and Chetan Chaudhary (22) in connection with the case and booked them under charges of murder and criminal conspiracy under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

According to police sources, Siya was allegedly under family pressure to proceed with the marriage and was not mentally prepared for the relationship, which investigators are now examining as a possible motive in the case.

Officials said the investigation has moved beyond the incident itself to examine the couple's relationship dynamics, communication records and prior interactions between the accused.

Siya initially told police that Ketan slipped while taking photographs near the edge of the fort. However, investigators later said inconsistencies in the statement led to further scrutiny and reclassification of the case as a suspected murder.

Police are also examining digital evidence, including call records and communication between Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, which allegedly show frequent contact over several months.

Investigators further claim the two accused may have met before the incident and discussed the sequence of events at Lohagad Fort.

Authorities are continuing to reconstruct the timeline leading up to Ketan Agarwal's death. The investigation is ongoing, and all allegations remain subject to judicial review.
