'Contemptible': India Rejects Pakistan’s North Waziristan Blast Blame

India has strongly refuted the Pakistan Army's accusation that it was responsible for the deadly suicide bombing in North Waziristan that killed at least 13 Pakistani soldiers on June 28, 2025. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) described the allegation as "deserving of contempt," firmly denying any involvement in the attack.

The incident occurred when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a military convoy in North Waziristan, located in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The blast resulted in the deaths of 13 soldiers and left several others injured.

Responsibility for the attack was claimed by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, a faction affiliated with the Pakistan Taliban. Despite this public claim, the Pakistan Army issued a statement pointing fingers at India, alleging foreign involvement behind the bombing.

Responding to the accusation, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "We reject this statement with the contempt it deserves," calling the charges baseless and politically motivated.

The bombing comes amid a growing wave of militant violence in Pakistan's border areas, which has intensified since the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Pakistani security forces have become frequent targets in this surge of violence.

Islamabad has repeatedly accused foreign actors, including India, of supporting such militant activities-an allegation that New Delhi has consistently denied. India maintains that the Pakistan Army's attempt to implicate it in the North Waziristan attack lacks any credibility and stands unequivocally rejected.
