Chinese president Xi Jinping to visit US next week

Beijing, Sept 16: Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the US from Sept 22 to 25 at the invitation of US President Barack Obama, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.

At the invitation of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Xi will visit the UN headquarters in New York to attend a series of summits to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations from September 26 to 28, Xinhua news agency quoted the spokesperson Lu Kang as saying.

Meanwhile, the White House said that Xi would be hosted at the White House for a state dinner on Sept 25.

Xi will travel to Seattle on Sept 22 before visiting Washington and New York.
