China: 2 men attempt to sell their kidneys for Apple iPhone
Beijing, Sept 16: In a bizarre incident, two young men tried to sell off their kidney to get the money for Apple's new iPhone. One of them, identified as Wu wanted an iPhone 6 s, but did not have the money for the same.
Therefore, his friend suggested that they sold a kidney each for the money.
On contacting an illegal agent on the Internet, they were asked for a medical examination in Nanjing. However, the agent did not turn up at the hospital as promised. Later, reconsidering the organ selling, Wu asked his friend Huang to stop, but the latter did not.
Wo then contacted the police , but Huang had fled by then. Interestingly, this is not the first instance where teenagers and youngsters have tried to sell off their body parts in organ trading for money. In April and August 2012, similar cases had come to light where attempts were made to sell kidneys for buying iPhone and an iPad.
