An explosion occurred Wednesday morning at the Santa Maria Courthouse in northern Santa Barbara County, California, injuring two individuals.
The blast, reported shortly after 8:45 a.m., resulted in non-life-threatening injuries for those affected, according to sheriff's officials.

A person of interest was detained in connection with the incident. Santa Barbara County Sheriff Public Information Officer Raquel Zick confirmed the details on the social media platform X, stating, "We have two reports of non-life-threatening injuries. One person of interest detained immediately. Scene remains active. Please continue to avoid the area."
