Bomb explodes at Brussels criminology institute
Brussels, Aug 29: A bomb exploded at the Brussels Institute of Criminology, the Belgian media reported. There were, however, no casualties, it said.
A car rammed through the fences around 2 am local time (4.30 am IST) before "exploding the bomb", state broadcaster RTBF reported. No source of the information was, however, given, according to AP.
One or more persons detonated a bomb near the laboratories, it was reported.
Belgium continues to have a level-three terror alert since the devastating attacks on Brussel's airport and a metro station in March this year killed over 30 people.
Scientific analysis related to criminal cases are done at the institute, which is linked to Belgium's federal justice body.
Belgian media said the blast caused a "significant" damage to the site. Police personnel sealed off the area.
