Typically, properties like houses, cars, and bikes are up for rent, but here's an unusual twist: a woman has posted on social media offering to rent out half of her bed. What's more surprising are the terms she's set and the rent she's asking for half a bed. But why would this single woman choose to sleep on just half of her bed and rent out the other half?

This woman, named Anya Ettinger, resides in Toronto, Canada. As per the Daily Star, she took to the Facebook marketplace to share a video advertising half of her bed for rent. In the video, she mentioned her search for a 'bedmate,' explaining her struggle to afford Toronto's high living costs. Hence, she's seeking someone who can share the bed with her.

Conditions for renting half of the bed include the requirement that her 'bedmate' be a woman and commit to staying for at least a year. The monthly rent for half a bed is set at 75,000. She emphasizes that the rent must be paid regularly.

The original listing read, "Seeking an easygoing female to share the master bedroom and the sole Queen-sized bed." It highlighted a past successful arrangement with a Facebook-found roommate.

Although the Facebook post was removed, Ettinger's video amassed over 600,000 views. In it, she expressed how dire the Toronto rental market, ranked the second most expensive in Canada according to a June report from Kijiji, has become.

Ettinger exclaimed, "Just when you thought the Toronto market couldn't get any worse, it did." She criticized the situation further, saying, "Renting out a bed space for 900 Canadian dollars a month? This is outrageous. It's no wonder so many people despise living here."
