Bangkok blast: Second explosion rocks city, no injuries
Bangkok, Aug 18: A second explosion rocked Bangkok just a day after a bomb blast killed 21 people at a shrine in capital city. The explosion caused panic but no injuries or damage were reported.
The explosive device was thrown this afternoon from the Sathorn bridge near a parking lot, bounced into the water and exploded there, the Bangkok Post reported.
The road was immediately closed for traffic movement. Divers searched into the water to recover any surviving pieces of the device.
Sathorn pier is a major terminal linking Chao Phraya River commuter boats and the nearby Skytrain station. It's also a major touriststop, especially for Chinese tour groups.
